Changed, not canceled! - The fire protection refurbishment of our house

For about two months, the signs of the major construction site in our house have been obvious and sometimes audible. However, things have quietened down again for a few days now. The reason for this is a change in the schedule. As a result, some of you have asked us whether the closed corridors and stacks could be reopened.

We would therefore like to take this opportunity to inform you once again: The construction site is by no means already finished or lifted. The areas of the building that are currently inaccessible are still construction sites that are unfortunately not currently suitable for users from an insurance and safety point of view. Even if the visible work on this construction site project cannot be continued until July at the earliest, it is not resource- and cost-efficient to make these areas accessible to the public again in the meantime - the work that has already been carried out in these areas is too extensive for this.

We ask for your understanding that we can and may only make these parts of the University Library accessible again once the construction work there has been completed and they once again look like the beautiful, cozy study areas you know from us.
