Dissertations & Habilitations

The submission regulations are anchored in the doctorate or thesis statutes of the individual faculties. They are published in the "Amtliche Bekanntmachungen der Ruhr-Universität Bochum" and can be seen in the Dean´s Office of the respective faculties of the Ruhr University Bochum. The mandatory submission can be done as an digital version, by a publisher or as a print version.

Personal mandatory submission is only possible by prior appointment.

 

Submission in digital form

Please provide us with the PDF file of your dissertation in advance for formal review (see checklist for submitting a dissertation/habilitation). After a few days you will receive feedback as to whether the file can be used as the basis for the print copies.

You can submit the digital part via one of the following channels:

Required files and metadata:

  • PDF file of the dissertation (max. 50 MB; without password protection; identical to the printed copies to be submitted)
  • German abstract (max. 1,000 characters incl. spaces)

    Please refer to the valid doctoral degree regulations of your faculty for the number and requirements.
  • „Declaration“
    Please complete the "Declaration" in full and sign it only after printing it out. We require your original handwritten signature.
  • at least 5 German keywords
  • Optional: Publication of the e-mail address via e-publication authorization.
Submission in printed form

For submission in printed form (publisher, book printing or, in rare cases, microfiche), the requirements of your faculty apply.
