Dante: The Divine Comedy – Graphics by Peter Beckmann
The Bochum-based artist Peter Beckmann presents his new series of graphic works inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy at the University Library Bochum. Over the course of two years, Beckmann developed his own interpretation of the literary classic: Dante’s journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise unfolds in his works through a striking and contemporary visual language.
The exhibition, “Dante: The Divine Comedy – Graphics by Peter Beckmann”, was created in collaboration with the Chair of Italian Literature at Ruhr University Bochum and is being held in conjunction with the 101st Annual Conference of the German Dante Society. It will be on view from October 23 to November 30, 2025, on the third floor of the University Library, during regular opening hours. Admission is free.
On October 24 at 4 pm, visitors are invited to join a guided tour of the exhibition with the artist.
