Due to improper use of our group rooms, we are obliged to change our terms and conditions for the use of group rooms as of 1 October 2025.

• The following group rooms are generally closed: Level 0 (ThinkTanks 1 and 2); Level 1 (Rooms 30, 31, 32); Level 3 (ThinkTanks 6 and 7); Level 5 (Rooms 12 and 13). After prior booking, these group rooms can be used on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• If you have booked a room, please report to the information and service desk. There you will be asked to leave a deposit. We will then accompany you to the group room and inspect it with you. After you have finished using the room, please report back to the information and service desk so that we can inspect the room again together. Provided there is no damage or dirt, you will receive your deposit back.
• Please note that booking our group rooms is reserved for members of Ruhr University Bochum. If you do not belong to this group of people and would still like to use a group room, please feel free to contact us at the information and service desk.

Group rooms 03, 07, and 08 on level 0 are exempt from this rule. They can be booked Monday through Friday from 8 am to 10 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm

We appreciate your understanding!

To alleviate the restrictions somewhat, the consumption of ‘dry snacks’ will be permitted in the group rooms from 1 October 2025. However, please leave the rooms free of crumbs and take your rubbish with you. The installation of air coolers is planned for the group rooms on level 5.
