Hauptorgane der Vereinten Nationen

 

 

Das "System of Organizations"

Neben den Hauptorganen der Vereinten Nationen gibt es das System of Organizations. Unter diesem Begriff werden Sonderorganisationen, Programme und Fonds zusammengefasst. Wir unterscheiden zwei Gruppen:

  1. Hauptabteilungen, Programme, Institutionen und Fonds, die auf Beschluss der Generalversammlung eingerichtet wurden. Dazu zählen u.a. UNICEF, UNCTAD, UNDP, UNEP und die fünf regionalen Kommissionen (ECA, ECE, ECLAC, ESCAP, ESCWA).
  2. Autonome Sonderorganisationen, deren Beziehungen zu den United Nations durch Abkommen geregelt sind. Diese Organisationen haben eigene Mitglieder sowie eigene Organe, Sekretariate und Budgets. Der Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat (ECOSOC) koordiniert die Zusammenarbeit dieser Sonderorganisationen untereinander sowie mit den United Nations. Zu den Sonderorganisationen zählen u.a. FAO, ILO, UNESCO und die Weltbank.
